Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) – French

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate, qualified, and student-focused  TGT French Teacher to teach French as a second/third language to middle school students (Grades VI–X). The ideal candidate should possess excellent language proficiency, strong classroom management skills, and the ability to make language learning engaging through interactive teaching methods. The teacher will foster students’ communication skills while promoting cultural awareness and appreciation of the French language.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach French to students of Grades VI to X in accordance with the CBSE curriculum and school guidelines.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, learner-centered lessons that develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
• Use innovative teaching methodologies, digital resources, audio-visual aids, games, role plays, and language activities to enhance learning.
• Encourage students to communicate confidently in French through classroom conversations and practical exercises.
• Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, projects, and assessments aligned with learning objectives.
• Evaluate students through periodic tests, oral assessments, presentations, and class participation.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment, and student progress.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance and language development.
• Create an inclusive, positive, and motivating classroom environment.
• Participate actively in school assemblies, language clubs, cultural events, exhibitions, competitions, and co-curricular activities.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers to support interdisciplinary learning.
• Attend staff meetings, professional development programs, workshops, and training sessions.
• Maintain discipline and ensure student safety in accordance with school policies.
• Integrate technology into classroom instruction wherever appropriate.
• Promote appreciation of French culture, traditions, literature, and global perspectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in French or Bachelor’s Degree with French as a subject.
B.Ed. from a recognized institution (preferred as per CBSE norms).
Diploma/Certification in French language (such as DELF/DALF or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
Strong command of spoken and written French and English.
Knowledge of CBSE curriculum and assessment practices is preferred.

Experience

Minimum **2–5 years** of teaching experience as a French teacher in a CBSE/ICSE/international school is preferred.
Freshers with excellent language proficiency and teaching skills may also apply.
