Primary Teacher

Job Description

The Primary Teacher is responsible for nurturing young learners by creating a safe, engaging, and child-centric learning environment that supports academic, social, emotional, and moral development.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate, engaging lessons as per curriculum guidelines
• Use activity-based, experiential, and play-way methods of teaching
• Foster curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking in students
• Integrate life skills, values, and 21st-century skills in daily teaching

Classroom Management

• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment
• Ensure students’ safety, hygiene, and emotional well-being
• Encourage participation and build confidence in every child

Assessment & Evaluation

• Conduct regular assessments, worksheets, and projects
• Maintain student progress records and portfolios
• Identify learning gaps and provide remedial support
• Prepare report cards and academic feedback

Student Development

• Observe and support students’ cognitive, social, and emotional growth
• Encourage good habits, manners, and values
• Address individual learning needs with sensitivity

Parent Communication

• Communicate student progress effectively during PTMs
• Collaborate with parents to support child development
• Address parent concerns professionally and positively

School Activities

• Participate in assemblies, celebrations, trips, and co-curricular activities
• Support school events, exhibitions, and competitions
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and coordinators

Professional Responsibilities

• Attend trainings, workshops, and staff meetings
• Continuously upgrade teaching skills and subject knowledge
• Follow school policies, child protection guidelines, and code of conduct

Required Qualifications

• Graduate / Post Graduate in relevant subject
• D.El.Ed / B.Ed (mandatory as per board norms)
• Teaching experience in primary classes preferred (Freshers may apply for junior roles)
